In the Dare to Read class, you will learn practices to improve your reading skills, fluency, and comprehension. The objective of the class is to improve your understanding about the process of reading and how your brain interacts with text. There are four in-person instruction sessions with the option of one-on-one Zoom coaching sessions with the instructor after the class. Presented by "Dare to Read" author Wade McJacobs. Want to join a book club? Here's one just for kids where we discuss different battle books and answer trivia questions. We'll offer a safe and supportive environment, respect and appreciation for differences, plus visual / communication supports. Jan 10: "Best of Iggy;" Jan. 24: "From the Desk of Zoe Washington;" Feb. 7: "Rescue on the Oregon Trail;" Feb. 21: "A Wish in the Dark." Grades 3-5. Registration required.

Preschool Storytime is filled with interactive books, flannelboard stories, music, and songs that will help your child develop the skills they need to get ready to read! It also promotes critical and imaginative thinking, as well as social skills. Ages 3-6.
