About the Beaverton Committee on Aging (BCOA)

Purpose

Discover and examine the issues and concerns of the aging population in the City of Beaverton and offer representation, information, and education regarding these issues.

Powers & Duties

The Beaverton Committee on Aging, formerly known as the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, was formed in 1995. The goal of the committee is to provide a forum within city government for seniors to communicate with the city's senior community and city officials. This has been accomplished through workshops and participating with city officials to address the concerns of seniors.

Legacy Project Events

We make plans for big events in life. We can also ensure we are well-planned and well-prepared for end-of-life. Through this series of free workshops on Wednesdays, Sept. 20 - Oct. 11, at the main library (12375 SW 5th St), learn from a variety of local experts to develop your "Life File," a tool that will help you make a plan for what's important. Hosted by Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services and the Beaverton Committee on Aging. Registration recommended; register online at the links below or by calling 503-644-2197.

Age Cafe Events

The Beaverton Committee on Aging hosts a monthly Age Cafe. Join the conversation! Discuss relevant topics with friends, neighbors, and other members of our community. Co-sponsored by Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services and Viva Village. Meetings are at Beaverton City Library Main (12375 SW 5th St).
