Bringing the Library to the Community

Access to books and reading together is one of the best ways to build a lifelong love of reading.

The Beaverton City Library's Library On Wheels (L.O.W.) program helps get books in the hands of kids in daycare centers and in-home child care who may have trouble regularly visiting the library in person.

Every three weeks library staff brings a bag of paperback picture books to daycare facilities, and rotates the books between 65 daycares in the Beaverton area. Library staff also provide storytimes when visiting daycare centers.

In 2016 L.O.W. served 11,000 children in Beaverton and the surrounding area.
