Library Volunteers
Would you like to work with books or other library materials? Would you
like to help behind the scenes to make materials ready for check-out? Would
you like to help with special projects or programming?
The Beaverton City Library is one of the busiest libraries in the state
and requires the help of dedicated volunteers to meet the needs of our growing
population in the Beaverton area. The Library strives to offer services to
the entire community by providing materials and service that cross cultural,
economic and educational boundaries.
Volunteers help the Library provide a high level of service at a low cost
to the community. You can help provide essential services by volunteering.
The Beaverton City Library Needs Volunteers to:
- Commit to a weekly schedule
- Work a minimum of 2 hours per week
- Be 14 years of age or older
- Like people and books
- Enjoy the quiet hard work that goes into making library materials, programs
and services available to all
Some of the Jobs Volunteers Help with Include:
- Shelving Videos and Materials
- Assisting with Children's Programs
- Preparing New Books to be Checked Out
- Organizing and Straightening Books On the Shelves
- Mending Books
- Special Projects and Special Events
- Instructing Computer Classes
- Collection Assistance
- Assisting the Public on Use of Computers

- Submit a Volunteer application:
- The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you for an interview.
- At the interview the Volunteer Coordinator will try to match your skills
and interests with current volunteer job openings.
