    The Oregon State Department of Education provides information for parents and teachers on Lexiles in the school curriculum. You can submit text to be analyzed for the Lexile level. Of special interest to parents and students are the Reading Pathfinders based on a child’s Lexile level.

American Library Association Awards

  • The John Newbery Medal

  • The Coretta Scott King Award
    Given to African American authors and illustrators for outstanding inspirational and educational contributions, the Coretta Scott King Book Award titles promote understanding and appreciation of the culture of all peoples and their contribution to the realization of the American dream.
