Library Updates
Sunday, March 14, 2010
Construction on the new branch will begin on Tuesday, March 16th! The renovations will begin with some minor demolition, which will make way for bookshelves and the check-out desk.
Although it's exciting to imagine the progress the construction folks will be making, please let them do their work without onlookers. This will help to keep everyone safe and the project running on schedule. Your city leaders will continue to don their hard hats to check up on things, giving us great pictures and updates on the progress. We can't wait to read about the milestones!

Here’s an interesting statistic to help you wrap your mind around the new branch. By opening day, the library at Murray Scholls will have around 10,000 items in their collections for children and teens; these collections include books, movies, music, and magazines. That number does not include all of those fantastic materials for adults. Wow!

At the main library, staff are busily preparing for the new branch at Murray Scholls. One of those preparations is ordering and processing thousands of popular new titles. This particular cart is loaded with new children's chapter books, like the Septimus Heap series. How fun!
