Booking Ahead is Beaverton City Library’s new year-long reading program!


You can participate by picking up a Booking Ahead passport at Beaverton City Library Main or Murray Scholls Branch.

Read or listen to books that fit the monthly themes, and enter to win monthly prizes and a Grand Prize at the end of the year.

January: Read a book published the year in which you were born. 
February: Read a book you heard about online or on social media. 
March: Read a book that has been made into a movie.  
April: Re-read your favorite book from childhood.
May: Read a book written by an author who is from a country other than the USA.
June: Read a classic you’ve never read.
July: Read a book you found on NoveList, a book recommendation database you can access with your library card.
August: Pick a book from a genre or format you don’t usually read.
September: Celebrate intellectual freedom by reading a book by someone who has an opposing viewpoint from your own. 
October: Read a selection from a local book club to see what your neighbors are reading and discussing.  
November: Read a book that has won an award.
December: Read someone else’s favorite book.
